Living in Knoxville Video Guide

What Is It Like to Live in Farragut, TN?

Farragut is one of Knoxville's most convenient suburbs. Along Turkey Creek Road you get sidewalks, a greenway that links most subdivisions, Anchor Park and Farragut school zoning, with homes from mature neighborhoods to newer construction. Todd's take: you pay a premium and homes go quickly, but for walkability and convenience it's hard to beat.

Key facts

  • Route: Turkey Creek Road runs a few miles from Concord Road, near Concord Park, to Virtue Road, which leads to Kingston Pike in Farragut.
  • Zoning: Everything on the road is in Farragut, with a Farragut zip code, and zoned for Farragut schools.
  • Greenways: Sidewalks and a greenway system connect most subdivisions. New subdivisions must connect to the greenway at the developer's cost, and no motorized vehicles are allowed.
  • Anchor Park: About three-quarters of the way down Turkey Creek Road, with greenway crossings and basketball courts.
  • Water: A large waterway runs along the road. People pontoon on it and some homes have docks, but a small railroad trestle opening limits access to the main channel.
  • Housing: Town homes, older ranch and traditional homes with mature trees, and newer construction with smaller lots and less mature landscaping.
  • Terrain: Fairly flat by East Tennessee standards.
  • Parks: Todd says you are never more than about 15 minutes from a different park.
